TeeRoy's 2 Cents:
- There's something kind of ironic about a guy called Billions claiming he's owed all this money.
- Sounds like Brinx Billions has been having broke sex.
- Nobody ever would have heard of this song without Nicki.
- Sounds like he got credit but not the credit he feels he deserves.
- Doesn't this guy know how the industry works these days? It's not unusual for artists, especially those of Nicki and Wayne's calibers, to get writing credits.
An unknown Queens rapper is saying Nicki Minaj ripped him off and got rich off his hit, “Rich Sex” -- and now he wants her to pay up.
Jawara Headley, who raps under the name Brinx Billions, is suing Barbie for $200 million. The Queens rapper says he let Nicki hear his music back in 2016 and she told him one of his songs was ‘extremely marketable” and a potential “global hit.” He claims he’s known Nicki since back in 2007 when they “met on MySpace.” He claims the song she ultimately put out uses his lyrics, similar music, musical notes, arrangement, beats and rhythm.
Brinx has also named the labels -- Universal Music Group, Young Money and Cash Money in the suit. He claims he is the sole author/creator/composer/writer and producer of the track, though he’s one of five names credited as a writer according to ASCAP, including Nicki and Lil Wayne.
