American kids binge-watching Peppa Pig speaking with British accent!

Some American children have started speaking with a British accent after binge-watching the English cartoon Peppa Pig during the pandemic. The so-called “Peppa Effect” had children mimicking the character pre-pandemic, but the lockdown orders made the effect more widespread. American parents note their children are also using British words such as biscuits (instead of cookies), telly (instead of television), and holiday (instead of vacation.) Peppa Pig was the world’s second-most in-demand children’s cartoon from February 2020 until February 2021.
