Japan’s Itoki Corp. and Koyoju Gohan KK have partnered up to release a new product called “nap boxes”, vertical pods they hope will help bring a healthier office culture to the country, by giving workers a place to take power naps while sleeping standing up.

"Nap Boxes" are large cylindrical pods with a door on the front, made to fit one person at a time.

The napper will have to sleep in the pod like a flamingo, standing vertically, and each box has 3 small shelves inside, placed to support your knees, head, and butt as you slumber.

The company claims they are comfortable but have you ever tried to sleep standing up?

The product is in its early developmental stages, so they technically haven't had a product to test yet and only have a rendering. However, a spokesperson for the company claimed that in Japan, it's common for workers to take nap breaks in the bathroom, prompting them to brainstorm for a better option.
