Ed Sheeran Got A Speeding Ticket After Singing About 'Driving At 90' In New Song

Ed Sheeran wasn't kidding when he sang about "driving at 90 down those country lanes" in his new song "Castle On The Hill." The singer/songwriter got a speeding ticket in Suffolk in the UK, according to The Sun

The UK newspaper reports that Ed got a ticket for going 70 mph in a 60 mph zone while driving in his Aston Martin DB9.

According to The Sun, Ed received a fine and penalty points, and told the newspaper he was afraid his dad would be mad. "My dad was the one that found out about it and I thought he’d go mental, but he was super chill."

Ed added, "He knows the road and he knows that it gets a lot of people making the same mistake. It was a local road and they changed it from 70 to 60 the week before and I didn’t know."

Ironically enough, he got a warning from the Suffolk police on Twitter after releasing his new songs, "Castle On The Hill" in particular. Suffolk police Sergeant Chris Harris tweeted, "#DriveToArrive @edsheeran Know you want to get home but please slow down on #SuffolkRoads #WelcomeBackEd #DrivingAt90 #CastleOnTheHill."
