A Troy staple has closed after almost a decade in business. Marla Ortega announced on Facebook that, The Illium Cafe & Bistro, located in Monument Square, has closed permanently.
Ortega made the choice to close because of the uncertainty of how to reopen as well as the cost of doing so, when it would be allowed.
Ortega will continue to run Illium Bistro at Pinehaven Country Club in Guilderland. The Illium Bistro at Pinehaven is currently open Thursday through Saturday offering grab-and-go meals and a-la-carte takeout.
