First Aldi Stores in Phoenix Area To Open Next Month

The grocery store Aldi will open its first two Phoenix-area locations on November 5.

One location is in Chandler at 2844 S. Alma School Road and the other is in Goodyear at 845 N. Estrella Parkway Both locations will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., and will offer curb-side pick up and delivery through Instacart.

"We’re thrilled to continue expanding in the Southwest, and we take great pride in reaching this milestone as we open our first Arizona stores,” Tom Cindel, Aldi group director of operations and logistics, said in a written statement.

The German-based chain plans to open two more locations in Gilbert on 801 Pecos Road and in Peoria on 24665 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway by the end of the year, but no date has be set yet. Eleven other locations are planned for the Phoenix area, the Arizona Republic reported, but some of these will be distribution centers or development facilities.

Asides from Aldi, two other stores will have new locations in the area next year. The Taiwanese-American supermarket chain 99 Ranch Market is moving into the Chandler Ranch shopping center sometime in early 2021. A Sprouts is expected to open in Maricopa at 20430 N. John Wayne Parkway sometime in the summer or fall of 2021.
