Today's question: You may have heard the phrase âCut to the chaseâ. As we all know, it means âget to the point right away.â  But did you know that It was originally coined by a guy named Hal Roach Sr. in the early 1900âs and it was much more literal in its first form than it is today. Please tell me, what did it first mean when someone would say "cut to the chase?"
