Eagles bassist Timothy B. Schmit has released “Heartbeat,” a second song off his new album, Day by Day, which will be out on May 6th.
Day by Day contains 12 songs recorded in his home studio in Los Angeles, Mooselodge. Joining him on the album are his daughter Jeddrah, Jackson Browne, Lindsey Buckingham, John Fogerty, drummer Jim Keltner, Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench, Doobie Brothers guitarist John McFee, and Kenny Wayne Sheppard.
Schmit says, "I still think of myself as a developing songwriter. When Jackson [Browne] came to the studio, we talked about how he wrote 'These Days' when he was 16 years old. It's so impressive that a teenager could create something so insightful. That didn't happen to me. I didn't hit my stride as a songwriter during my younger years. I think I'm finally starting to get there now, and I'm in my 70s! It's really nice. It makes me anxious to move forward and continue making music.”
Day by Day, his seventh album and first since 2016's Leap of Faith, will be released on May 6th.
The first single, "Simple Man," with Buckingham on guitar, is out now.
