Today's question: Mount Rushmore is an enormous sculpture of 4 American Presidents in the Black Hills of South Dakota. However, presidents were not the first idea that a historian had when he suggested the monument.
A man named Doane Robinson believed that heroes of the America should not be the founding fathers... but instead he wanted four people who were instrumental at making America what it was back in the 1800's.
They included: Buffalo Bill Cody who was a famous American West gunslinger, Lakota chief Red Cloud who was best known for his confrontations with the U.S. government and two other names. Today, I need you to tell me who were the other two notable figures from the 1800s who were supposed to be on the original Mount Rushmore?
