It was created to bust counterfeiters printing illegal money. (Which was a HUGE PROBLEM after the Civil War — when about One-third of all U.S. currency in circulation was fake)
But Since then, the Secret Service has expanded it's mission… to include presidential protection… high-level investigations…. and making sure nobody steals the White House Netflix password.”
