On this day back in 2000, “Dora the Explorer” burst onto our TV screens — teaching kids that it's perfectly safe to go wander the jungle with….. NO parents…. A make-believe talking backpack... and a feral pet monkey wearing rain boots.
Somehow during her travels, Dora never got poison ivy… never ran out of snacks…. And escaped every “dangerous” animal & poacher by politely yelling: “Please Stop!”
