Did you know, the iconic HOLLYWOOD SIGN in California, didn’t always just say ‘Hollywood”?….. Actually, back in the 1930s & 40s, it used to say “Hollywoodland”… Like an AD for a gated community… or some Cheesy West-Coast Amusement Park
But on this day back in 1949, they officially dropped the ‘LAND’ …. Transforming it, into the iconic “Hollywood Sign" we all know & love.
But it got us thinking… A lot of famous places used to have totally different names before they were REBRANDED into what we would recognize now.
