Today we celebrate National Paperclip Day.… Honoring the most humble of office supplies… that’s held together book reports… tax audits… and most of Brooke’s Homemade Halloween Costumes
But the most FAMOUS paperclip of all time…. isn’t even allowed near actual paper anymore… I’m talking about “Clippy”… The over-caffeinated Microsoft Assistant from 1997…. who would pop up on your Word Document saying: “Hey! It looks like you’re trying to write a ransom letter to the cops - would you like some help with that?”
If you never witnessed him yourself or are too Young to remember…. Clippy was a bendy, cracked-out little eavesdropper… with zero qualifications & terrible timing… but somehow, he STILL became MICROSOFT’s “Unofficial mascot” for YEARS… even after he was fired from his job FOR CAUSE
