On this day in 1981…. Nintendo unleashed their newest arcade game: Donkey Kong… Featuring a giant, barrel-tossing gorilla, wearing Jeffrey’s favorite outfit… a necktie with No Pants.
But the REAL STAR of the game, was a pixelated secondary character named “Jumpman”…. Armed with a mustache & a serious lack of OSHA compliance…. He would later go on to become everyone’s FAVORITE Italian plumber…. MARIO - and the rest is history.
But Mario isn’t the ONLY iconic thing, to come out of the Decade of Neon Spandex & Talking Cars….
