On this day, back in 1988…. MTV rolled out a brand new program called:“YO! MTV Raps”…….. Soon, Every Pale white suburban kid who'd never left their cul-de-sac… went to the mall dressed like they just stepped out of Compton.
It was the show that introduced millions of people to hip-hop… and taught Millions more how to throw up awkward hand signs while sipping on 40s.
Thats why, in honor of the birth of YO! MTV RAPS….. it’s time to dust off your FAUX gold chain for a special: “HIP HOP HOT SEAT” edition of… Plenty of Twenty.
