On this day, in 1983… VANESSA WILLIAMS made history… when she became the first Black woman EVER to be crowned Miss America.
It was a huge milestone achievement…. They gave her the Crown… the Sash…. the Flowers….
And then, LESS THAN A YEAR LATER, they asked for it all BACK… after a little scandal leaked to the public… BUT HEY, that’s history for ya!
Still, Vanessa’s “Whoopsie-Daisy”…. isn't even CLOSE to the strangest thing that's ever happened during the competition.
