On this day, back in 1995… some nerd in Silicon Valley decided to launch a funky little auction website called e-Bay… where people could buy & sell their old crap to strangers online.
Little did he know… it would grow into a $28 billion dollar company. … where you can purchase a private island… Get a Jar of air from a Kanye concert… or even sell your own grandmother (seriously, a kid tried to do that in 2009, and the bidding got up to $20,000 before ebay shut it down)
